If you look at the mektek site the count down to release has begun.... 1day 9 hours when I looked at it just now.

You download the MTX program first and install.

Once you open MTX, it has a games available tab from there you can download AT1 (the game)

MTX has a built in torrent client which connects to the MekTek tracker and other peepz downloading the game.

The current beta game seems to be a few instant action senarios at the mo.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Just some screenies i took when i had a quick play

Must admit that the game itself is just an interesting demo to me at the mo.

See what happens as MekTek develop it.

 

MTX on the other hand will be a great way of distributing Mercs etc and bringing

the MW comunity together again.

 

I can see this game appealing to you Gunny and other MW2'ers/3'ers amongst us.

truth be told, i would be happy with MW2 Netmech in wireframe if someone could port it to current versions of windows.

Ok, I loaded it up and checked it out.

 

The good:

graphics are passable for a free game.

I love the old scholl mech sounds, including the MW2 bitching betty.

 

The bad:

control mappings are the massive suck. I play with joystick/keyboard and couldnt get the stick to work or map at all. Trying to use mouse/keyboard had similar results. it looks like the aiming reticle control fades at some point and you have to relock it to get it to start working again. My Timberwolf got owned by a 50 ton mech, simply because I couldnt aim enough to hit him.

Yep, i'm having problems my Saitek Cyborg Gold.

Seems to lose some mapping once i get into the action.

Think i'm also having my old problem with centering legs  to torso :rolls eyes:

 

Its a good start from MekTek but the controls are going to have to improve to keep me interested.

Bring on the free Mercs game!

This game is defintely like MW2 "part 2", the sound effects and tracks bring back the old days but they have *got* to fix the control mappings... no joystick is a killer.

 

I'm looking forward to the free mercs game as well, I actually never played mw4 mercs my pc was unable to play it when it came out.
